Windows Phone 7 Second Update Arriving February 2011?

Microsoft is preparing a Windows Phone 7 second update to be made available in February 2011 even before the first has been released completely. The second update is expected to be unveiled by Microsoft at the Mobile World Congress in February 2011.

If this information is correct the new update will come up with improved multitasking support, with in-app downloads and broader customization options for end users. However the second larger update according to developers will bring with it some great new features, improving the Windows Phone 7 OS in 2011 considerably.

Uvo – Microsoft and Kia Partnership

I think, it’ll be last partnership in the year of 2009. Microsoft and Kia launching Uvo (short for “your voice). It’s another implementation of Microsoft’s Windows Embedded Technologies, the guts behind Sync, and so while we expect that will mean the two systems will be inherently very similar.

Let’s see what functionality or new product come with the name of Uvo. Anyways, hope for the best…

Windows 7 E without Internet Explorer in Europe

The ever-watchful eye of the European Union, Microsoft’s announce its Euro version of Windows 7, warmly and officially dubbed Windows 7 E, which will not come with Internet Explorer, and any other browser for that material.

The whole story is, OEMs will be provided free copies of IE8 to pack themselves instead of other browser options, and consumers can accept up their own copies via CD, FTP, or retail channels. The undoubtedly in response to the antitrust cases the EU keeps throwing Microsoft’s way, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it end up on almost every European computer sold, we do surprise if this will at all speed up IE’s already quickly diminishing share in the war of web browsers.

Hope that it’ll come in India soon…….

MSIE 8 was released few days before and users have already busy for sending complaints to Microsoft. Although many problems were supposed to be resolved during the beta testing phase, however it seems that there are multiple issues affecting the web browser.

Top complaints include:

Printing from websites
Search function malfunctions
And misplaced images.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 8

Many users have said that their search bar doesn’t work & have appeared blank. Additionally, a bug has appeared to cause an issue with dragging photos in Internet Explorer onto Facebook pages. Boot up times have also been reported as slow as well as taking up an extra 4GB of hard drive storage space.

Microsoft has contended that they’ve fixed the most significant issues in beta based on priority by community voting. Upgrades to IE 8 include several bars that you can use to manage the sites that you navigate on the web. A favorites bar, tab bar, and address bar have all been added with the upgrade. However, you can manually download IE 8 from Microsoft’s download page.

Xbox Live Won’t Crash Again This Christmas

With Microsoft sporting a cheaper console and the need to upgrade all new Xbox 360s to the New Xbox Experience come Christmas morning, it appears that a repeat of last year’s Live crash is about to happen.

Not so, says Aaron Greenberg, group product manager for Xbox 360.

We’ve built a lot of infrastructure, a lot of behind the curtain no one sees, he said. This is something that Microsoft is good at.

We are well prepared for the type of growth we expect this holiday.”

And if things do go sideways, Greenberg assures that Microsoft will be prepared.

We’ll have people standing by, more people on hand than we’ve ever had before,

he said. “Knock on wood we will hopefully not have any issues.”

Windows Vista SP2 launch April’09?

Last week TechARP said that Microsoft Vista SP2 is scheduled for an April 2009 release to manufacturing — that means not you… not yet anyway.

We’re guessing that it will hit a month later for general release if the Vista SP1 rollout was any indication. So who’s TechARP? Oh just the same group of Malaysian kids that like to boast about how they broke the Vista SP1 and XP SP3 release schedules to the world.

That makes their “confidential source” worth listening to. The source adds that Microsoft will deliver a SP2 release candidate as early as February so we’ll know soon enough how accurate this rumor is.
