There have been regular Tablet launches in the Indian market. SMC Networks is one of more known names in the market, who have come out with their own tablet called the EZ StylePad. 5. Dell Mini 10 Laptop

The Mini 10 with the Atom Z530 processor (1.6GHz) that we tested costs $534 as configured. The price puts our Mini 10 beyond the usual upper limit of a netbook (though units start at under $350). In addition to the Atom Z530 processor, In this 1GB of soldered-on RAM, 802.11g Wi-Fi, an ethernet jack (10/100, not gigabit), three USB ports, headphone output, mic input, an HDMI-output, and a slightly higher-res screen than most 10-inch netbooks (1366 by 768). Frankly, the extra resolution doesn’t do much at this size, and you’ll find yourself squinting to read on it. You could always increase the size of icons and fonts and such, but Windows XP doesn’t handle such resizing very gracefully. The reason for that video kick is in no small part due to the optional on-board HDTV tuner that came with our unit.

The large, comfortable keyboard remains–and is the HP Mini 1000′s best feature–while the CPU has been upgraded from the Via C7-M to the Intel Atom. At $549, our review unit is about $50 more than our self-imposed Netbook price cap, and it surpasses the $500 mark without including a pricey, yet preferred (for a Netbook), solid-state drive. Can I Bin My Laptop & Replace with Kindle Fire?

The main thing to remember about the Kindle Fire is that it is not a tablet, not a computer. It is not designed to compete with the iPad, and head to head it wouldn’t stand a chance. And although it may put some of the cheaper and more rudimentary tablets in their place it would struggle against the top brands in terms of capacity and responsiveness. Having said all that this is a very neat piece of kit and compared with its predecessors it is absolutely dripping with extras that make it a thoroughly enjoyable product to own.

Kindle Fire Specs:

At just under $200 it is reasonably priced for what it offers and probably fits fairly neatly into the general budget for a decent Christmas or Birthday gift without the need for breaking the bank. Priced as it is, producers Amazon, claim to be making a loss on the product itself, in the hope that they will redeem the loss on the cost of the item through the sales of apps, video, movies and books from the Amazon website on to the devices. You will need to be prepared to purchase all of the media you want to use through Amazon if you want to use it through the Fire as it is essentially just a media viewer, although a state of the art one, designed to help you access Amazon products.

The 7” screen is multi touch and very responsive, but not quite as intuitive as an iPad in following finger movements on screen. It uses technology called In Plane Switching which does allow for wide angle viewing, useful if you are sharing a movie with a friend, and the 1024 x 600 pixel 169 ppi gives the video display a nice rich effect. The screen itself is made from gorilla glass, superbly tough and you shouldn’t worry about needing screen protectors, as the average set of keys, or other random metallic objects that you might have stowed in the bottom of your bag pose no real threat at all. It does weigh in at a reasonably hefty 413 grams and although this is lighter than the iPad (600grams), if you do find yourself without your stand it is difficult to hold for sustained reading/viewing times.

Like a Computer, but not a Computer:

You have to remind yourself that this is not a computer, but with the combination of the high speed dual core processor, some of the creative apps and the fast internet browsing it does feel like you have a device which is all but in name a PC. Load it up with Office Suite Pro 5, Exchange By TouchDown, (and Facebook, of course!) and you might as well be at your desk. The web browser silk is an innovative feature and something of which Amazon are rightly boastful, although not all websites are sized perfectly on screen, access and flow between web pages is smooth and load time is minimal. Overall if you were looking to replace your tired old laptop, notebook or PC you could probably manage with the Kindle Fire and not suffer to greatly (if at all) as a consequence.

Storage Issues:

Storage on the device itself is an issue. It comes with 8GB as standard, which for a media playing device, given the current direction in terms of file size in terms of definition and quality, that media is going, 8GB is hopelessly inadequate. You look at the numbers and almost shout, “What were they thinking?” Particularly as it doesn’t come with an SD Card Slot. Especially as included in the 8GB is the 1.5GB OS, leaving you with 6.5GB; enough to hold 1 movie, 20 apps, 200 songs and a couple of hundred books in total. Not really the greatest media catalogue in the world. Amazon were of course thinking, as everyone is, with their heads in the cloud. And the cloud here is an excellent feature, with 5gb of free storage and for a buck a year you can get an extra gigabyte, giving you the storage without the hassles of cluttering the device and worrying about download times.

Overall the Kindle Fire is kit definitely worth having, it will not stand up against and Ultrabook, or iPad, but against a standard notebook, it performs fairly well and as a media viewer it is in a class of its own. Its major plus point lies in its price, which is no fortune and won’t require a large online balance transfer so the Kindle Fire should not be passed by simply because of its shortcomings.

Laptop Memory Upgrade – Notebook RAM Types & Prices

Do you think that just because a laptop is small it doesn’t need memory? Laptops are underpowered enough as it is with their tough size and heat requirements, so don’t damage them anymore. Selecting correct memory upgrade for your computer, whether it’s a laptop or a desktop. The first choice is manufacturer, the next choice is model and the final choice is the model number. Crucial then presents the information shown at the right, along with a part selection and price.

To install your laptop memory you will need:

Compatible Laptop SODIMM memory module/s.
Anti-Static Wrist-strap (if available).
A Screwdriver suitable for your laptop’s memory cover.

Installing a SODIMM in your Laptop:

STEP 1: Disconnect the power cable, remove battery and ensure the laptop is off! The memory section of your laptop can be found on the bottom of the machine. Using a suitable screwdriver, undo the holding screw and gently remove the cover. Some covers have small lugs that help hold the cover in place. See your laptop’s manual if you can’t locate it.

STEP 2: Remove the memory you are replacing .If you have an open SODIMM slot, skip this step, if all of your SODIMM slots are full, you will need to remove one or more of your old modules before you can install the new memory.

Press down on the retaining clips on either side of the module.
Remove the module from the slot.
Do not use any tools in the removal or installation of memory modules.

STEP 3: Installing the Laptop Memory (RAM) If all of your SODIMM slots are full, you will need to remove one or more of your old modules before you can install the new memory.

Once the memory module is in its final position, the ejector clips should lock onto it and hold it in place.

STEP 4: Install your new module. Take your module out of its anti-static bag and hold it by the edges. If you have more than one open slot, fill the lowest numbered slot first.

Line up the notches in the row of metal pins at the bottom of your module with the keys in the SODIMM slot on your motherboard. (If the notches don’t line up right away, flip your module around and try it the other way. It doesn’t matter which side of your module has the black chips or the stickers on it. The important thing is to line up the notches.)
Align the notch of the memory module with that of the memory slot and gently insert the module into the slot at a 45-degree angle.

STEP 5: After installing the memory into the computer, before you close your case, turn your computer back on. When the computer is powered back up, it may be necessary to go into the computer BIOS to let the system properly detect the new RAM that has been installed in the computer. You should see the new amount of memory displayed on your startup screens or in the properties for “My Computer“.

STEP 6: If you face any problem in with your new RAM, check some loose points by following these things.

Check the power cords. Is everything plugged in properly?
Check the module. Did both side clips snap to hold the module firmly in place? Try removing the module and replacing it to make sure it is seated properly in the slot.
Check the wires and cables inside your computer. Did you accidentally bump one of the cables inside your computer while you were installing your module? A loose hard drive cable can prevent your computer from booting up properly. Make sure all the cables are firmly in their sockets.

But some part of country it is not getting good responses. I think tower may be far from the original location.

LG Tablet – E-Note H1000B

Thousands of Laptops Steal from Government Contractor

Breaking News: The theft occurred at the iGov facility in Tampa, Florida and the thieves got away with thousands of Panasonic Toughbook laptops, valued at more than $3,000, quite higher cost. Seven thieves managed to park two semitrailer trucks and spend nine hours loading them up with laptops.

Their entire heist was apparently caught on security footage, but there is no word as to why no one managed to catch them during the nine hour event.

I hope, cops will catch them very soon.

Dell Vostro V13 Worth $450 – Only Available in Singapore

Dell Singapore has just launched the thing officially as the Vostro V13, complete with specs. Oops. Dell PR tries to put out that fire, we can dance in the rubble and tell you that Dell‘s putting everything it learned building the Adamo XPS to some more practical use in the .65-inch thick, sub-3.5-pound V13, which packs either a 1.2GHz Celeron, 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo or 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo with integrated X4500MHD graphics under that 13.3-inch screen. Sure, the design isn’t as wild as the Adamo XPS, but the extra thickness means that it can accommodate an Ethernet port, along with eSATA, USB, an SD card slot and even a freaking ExpressCard slot.

Lenovo X100E Laptop – Super Cheap, Sweet & Small

Lenovo X100E - Small, Cheap & Sweet Laptop

Lenovo’s new X100E ultrathin laptop is just out in the market and it’s looking pretty sweet. An 11.6-inch screen, redesigned chiclet keyboard, a supposed starting price of less than $500 and colors ((Looks like red, white and black are the extent of the palette).

The X100E looks to be a substantial physical redesign from Lenovo. The new chiclet (or “island”) keyboard looks great, much less busy than previous ThinkPad layouts, and the overall design seems to have calmed down significantly.

It should be packing a low-power AMD Athon “Neo” processor, 4GB of memory, up to 500GB of hard drive storage, and boast a 5.1-hour battery life while weighing less than 3 pounds but the most enticing part has to be the price: Previous ThinkPads have been extremely pricey, often even more than equivalent Macs, yet the X100E is rumored to come in at $500 to start. No information on release date, but we’ll keep you updated.

Samsung Xseries NoteBook

Samsung has announced new additions to its line of laptop’s with five new models for the X and R series notebooks along with N series netbooks. The X series line includes 14.1-inch ultra-thin and light X460 with the first 2950mAh 6-cell battery for 10 hours of continuous use. The notebook also features fingerprint authentication and a trusted platform authentication system.

The R series notebook line features the Samsung R420 and the R470 come with a 14-inch LED backlit LCD. The two machines have a watertight seal around the chassis to prevent liquids form getting inside if spilled. The N-series netbook line has the N120 and the N310 featuring HSPA, WiMAX, and WiBro offering over 10 hours of battery life and larger ergonomic keyboards. Pricing on the new machines is currently unavailable.

Nvidia's Tegra Powered Netbook

Nvidia’s Tegra ARM chip was supposed to be a smartphone revolutionizing processor. As claimed, this Nvidia’s nettop will be known as ‘Firefly’. These Tegra powered nettops will be power-driven by Windows CE including Flash Lite, Acrobat Reader and a number of other smart applications. Due to it’s design & capabilities, it would definitely face huge competition from the already mass netbook/laptop market. Tegra is powering the Toshiba (TG01), Zune HD or may be with “Qualcomm SnapDragon chip” and a few Android powered machines but its uncertain how it can power an acceptable netbook. There are competitors like Acer, which is opting for dual boot Netbooks that will support Android as well as WinXP so OS is a problem too. Does anybody actually like Windows CE? Naaah…

About Releasing Date: There are rumors about its release in September but not confirmed till now.

Toshiba just announced that it will release in August a WiMAX-enabled netbook in Japan, known as the dynabook UX/27JBLMA. Based on the original dynabook UX netbook, Toshiba’s new offering is powered by an:

The Toshiba dynabook UX/27JBLMA will be released in Mid-August. Also introduced is the dynabook SS RX2/T9JMA that is basically a Dynabook SS RX2 notebook with 128GB SSD and WiMAX. Another SSD and WiMAX equipped model is the dynabook SS RX2/WAJ with 512GB SSD.
