Collins Cinema View 47inch LCD

Collins America is introducing the CinemaView LCD Display with a Mini DisplayPort for Mac computers. The CinemaView is available in two different models, in 24-inch and 47-inch screen sizes with both models having a screen resolution of 1920×1080. The 24-inch model includes a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 300cd/m2 brightness while the CinemaView 47-inch model features a 4000:1 contrast ratio and a 500cd/m2 brightness.

Both LCD display will be available for 24-inch at $499 and the 47-inch at $1499. Along with the two new display the company also announced the CinemaView HD TV tuner with a Mini DisplayPort and four HDMI connectors. The CinemaView HD TV tuner will be available as of January 2010 for a price of $399.

EVGA has launched the InterView 1700 Dual-Monitor system which was released with the plan of targeting business users, since the monitor is ideal for business presentations, researchers, physicians, financial consultants or creative professionals. The Monitor System consist of two 17-inch LCD monitors that can be rotated 180 degrees vertically and folded 90 degrees horizontally. Both monitors has a 8ms response time, 500:1 contrast ratio and also comes with an integrated 1.3-megapixel webcam and three USB ports.

Some of you may remember when we reported on the IDVault, a device that kept all your passwords in one convenient USB thumb drive. It is also an extra level of security. In an age where everything is on the Net, someone could easily obtain our information with nothing more than a few passwords and numbers. The SmartSwipe was invented to insure that our credit card numbers would be safe. The SmartSwipe is a credit card reader that plugs right into the USB drive, and makes you look like a retail cashier. However, it is designed for those who shop online and will encrypt the credit card data before transmitting it to the computer. This is different than most online security programs, that only protect information on the way to the Internet.

So not only can users feel safe about their online purchases and other credit-card related business, but they have an easier way of entering information rather than typing in their credit card number and expiration date. You must be making several credit-card purchases a day in order to justify this purchase. Then again, if you can afford to live like that, then you could easily work the SmartSwipe into your budget.

You have to wonder if the $99.95 pricetag makes this device worth it.

MSIE 8 was released few days before and users have already busy for sending complaints to Microsoft. Although many problems were supposed to be resolved during the beta testing phase, however it seems that there are multiple issues affecting the web browser.

Top complaints include:

Printing from websites
Search function malfunctions
And misplaced images.

Many users have said that their search bar doesn’t work & have appeared blank. Additionally, a bug has appeared to cause an issue with dragging photos in Internet Explorer onto Facebook pages. Boot up times have also been reported as slow as well as taking up an extra 4GB of hard drive storage space.

Microsoft has contended that they’ve fixed the most significant issues in beta based on priority by community voting. Upgrades to IE 8 include several bars that you can use to manage the sites that you navigate on the web. A favorites bar, tab bar, and address bar have all been added with the upgrade. However, you can manually download IE 8 from Microsoft’s download page.
