Waterproof CellPhone from Fujitsu with fingerprint technology
Recently AuthenTec, stated that NTT DoCoMo started shipping Fujitsu F-01A, a waterproof cell phone with integrated fingerprint technology. The company claims that it is world’s first cell phone where such technology is used.
Fujitsu F-01A features the TouchStone waterproof packaging and uses the TrueNav technology through AES1711 fingerprint sensor developed by AuthenTec.
The F-01A cell phone runs on Symbian operating system. Among its features the cell phone boasts a 3.5-inch widescreen VGA touchscreen display, a 5.2-megapixel camera which also has an autofocus and incorporated GPS. Owners of the cell phone from NTT DoCoMo will also have the ability to use Mobile Google Maps with Street View. In addition, the fingerprint-enabled waterproof cell phone has an e-Wallet mobile payment feature and a 1-Seg mobile TV tuner.
Fujitsu F-01A can work for half an hour in 1 meter of water. The technology developed by TouchStone, triples the protective cover of AuthenTec sensors on the cell phone, thus prolonging their resistance.
