The company has launched services initially in 3 cities – Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ambala – and will later take it to the rest of the states. In the 1st phase, the IPTV service will be launched in 9 cities.

With this move, the company hopes to retain its wireline customers, as they will be required to have a broadband connection for the services, says BSNL’s chairman and managing director Kuldeep Goyal.
